#MELCOM #DONATED SOME #RELIEF #ITEMS TO THE #SURVIVORS OF THE #FLOOD #VICTIMS THROUGH THE #REGIONAL #COORDINATING #COUNCIL

#Mr #Avenorgbor,from #Melcom #group of companies presented some relief items to the #Regional #Coordinating #Council to be given to the #survivors of #3rd June #disaster which occurs in Ghana.According to him,they lost one of their #managers through the #flood.The #items #specifically were met for those receiving #treatment at #37 #Military #Hospital and #Korle-Bu. As part of their #Social #Responsibility of the #company. #Mr #Avenorgbor said,the Unit of the #company made the #decision the previous #day and acts as #urgently to make the #donation the next #morning.

#Hon.#Nii Djanmah #Vanderpuye, #Greater Accra #Deputy Minister, acompany with Mr #Ernest Nyagbe,Chief Director of RCC and Mr #Nii-Amarh Ashitey,Director of HR Unit received the items on behalf of the #Regional Coordinating Council through its #NADMO Unit. The Deputy Regional Minister thanks #Melcom group of #companies for their swift responds to the #disaster that occurs which about 150 #people lost their #life. He uses the platform to appeals to other #companies to emulates #Melcom gesture.

The items includes,#three hundred box of bottle water called '#Insupa', three hundred box of mixed  #glucose bisque and twenty bags of #rice. The representative of both #Hospital also thanks #Melcom gesture for their timely intervention, as one of the challenges facing them was feeding. They also appealed to the general public for their support.

#WORKSHOP FOR VETTING #2015 CAPACITY BUILDING PLANS OF #MMDA'S IN #GREATER #ACCRA REGION HELD

A two day workshop for vetting of the #2015 #Capacity #Building Plans of MMDAs in the Greater Accra Region (GAR) has been held in Accra. The exercise was funded by a grant under the External of The #European #Union #EU aimed at strengthening the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) and Regional Planing Coordinating Unit (RPCU) to effectively support the planning and monitoring activities of MMDAs is to support the Assemblies to improve the availability,access and quality of public service to the citizenry for better living conditions within their communities.

In a speech read on behalf of the #Greater #Accra #Regional #Minister, by #Hon #Djanmah #Vanderpuje, the Minister noted that, deficiency embedded in the various capacities requirements of personnel of the Assemblies have gravely hindered the granting of greater budgetary autonomy to MMDAs.

He further posited that "the establishment of the capacity of the building component of District Development Fund has come to support the improvement of staff capacity through training ,to enable them to effectively perform their statutory mandate. The program is the first of its kind in the Region, which is indicative of the high interest of the RCC towards capacity enhancement at the local level for efficient service delivery and meeting the local Government Service Delivery Standard that focuses on Participation,Professionalism,Effectiveness,Transparency,Accountability and Client Focus"

Mr. #George #Gyapani #Ackah,#Head of the Regional Planning Coordinating Unit of the RCC told gives further explanation that ,"the RCC through the #RPCU will follow up on the implementation of the various Capacity Building Plans of the 16 MMDAs in the GAR to ensure that the expected outcome are duly achieved.

Speaking on anonymity, a participant expressed gratitude to the #RCC for delivery such a workshop which has enable participant from the respective #MMDAs to have their Capacity Development Plans vetted and fine-tuned.

The #Director of the #HR #Unit, #Mr. #Armah Ashitey, noted that "this was the first time such a programmed has been held in the region and was therefore optimistic that participant will endeavor to make the best out of the exercise."

#Mr. #Ernest #Nyagbe , the #Regional #Coordinating #Director observed that."the coordinating Council will continue to make such training programs to officers to keep them on top of their schedules and there by ensure that, the  citizenry are given the best of Local Government Service."
